Variations on a Theme

The Last SnowfallUnlike the photo at left, today is a sunny day. The threat of snow seems to have passed and spring is surely near. The grass is green, there are crocuses in bloom and many snowdrops and lovely little Iris reticulata. Corsican hellebore is in full bloom, as well. This is an exciting time of year, especially in places where winter is its own season, cold and a bit dreary.

Continuing on from my last post (Poppies and Sorrel Seeds), I have several more variations of this print to show you. Using the same drypoint plate, I experimented with different colours of ink and a variety of decorative papers to produce more chine-collé prints. For those of you who are interested, a few of the technical details of the chine-collé process were provided in my last post.
